The Heidi Chronicles iCal

Thursday, April 12 2012 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Keuka College’s spring theater production will be Wendy Wasserstein’s drama The Heidi Chronicles.
The play will be staged Thursday-Sunday April 12-15 in the College’s Red Barn Theatre. Curtain is 8 p.m. for the Thursday, April 12-14 shows, and 7 p.m. Sunday, April 15. The April 12 performance will benefit the cast members’ trip to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in January.
Directed by Professor of Theatre Mark Wenderlich, the play traces Heidi Holland from high school in the 1960s to her career as a successful art historian more than 20 years later. The play follows the changing role of women during this time period, describing both Heidi's ardent feminism during the 1970s and her eventual sense of betrayal during the 1980s. Though most of the characters are women, there is Peter Patrone, a pediatrician who is Heidi's best friend, and Scoop Rosenbaum, a magazine editor who marries and has many affairs, and with whom Heidi has a tense friendship.

Tickets are $4 for faculty, staff, and students and $7 for the general public. All seats for the April 12 performance are $7, and will be on sale at the door.
