The Agriculture Council of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce and the Cornell Cooperative Extension are hosting an AgriTourism Workshop. On-Farm Tourism: Improving Agriculture Awareness and the Farm's Bottom Line March 27, 2012 from 3-5pm Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, 35 Lakefront Drive, Geneva Fee: $20.00 per person; fee is waived for members of the GACC. Tourists in the Finger Lakes are quite eager to get to know how farms are run. Farms can be a good setting to help tourists and local residents learn about agriculture and become loyal customers. This workshop will look at how bus tours create beneficial opportunities for local farms. It will also review liability and insurance considerations and how to set up a budget to make a profit. To register, contact the GACC at 315-789-1776 or click here for a registration form. Must register by March 23rd. For questions about agriculture tourism, contact Jim Ochterski at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County, 585-394-3977 x 402.
