Tree Fruit Grafting Workshop Saturday, March 24, 2012 9:00 am - Noon Bryan Meck residence at 586 Sheldon Road in the town of Farmington Canandaigua, NY – Come learn different grafting methods with home orchardist, Bryan Meck, who has years of experience. Whether you wish to propagate a new tree to plant in your home orchard or change over an existing apple tree to a new variety; this workshop will guide you through the grafting process. Bryan will demonstrate and discuss chip bud and whip grafting for new trees and cleft, saddle and rind grafting for top working an existing tree. You will also get to see a wild apple tree in its fourth year top worked with multiple varieties along with other grafting examples, some that took and some that didn’t. Participants will be grafting an apple variety onto a semi-dwarf rootstock that they will take home along with a grafting knife and book.
