If you like to fish and want to start consuming more of your catch or just want to learn more about cooking and preparing fish, then this workshop is for you! Learn how to clean and fillet whole fish and make a fish stock with the bones, along with additional fish preparation techniques and tips. Participants will leave with recipes and other educational materials.
The Fish Prep Workshop offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension is geared to teach people how to prepare their own fish to cook after catching. The workshop will cover how to clean and prepare a day’s catch, as well as nutritional benefits to eating fish and fish health advisories. With this knowledge, it’s easier for families to spend time putting food on the table together and sharing healthy and tasty meals. Cornell Cooperative Extension will teach new cooking techniques and recipes, plus the ins and outs of what fish to eat, how much of it to eat, and how to prepare fresh, local fish.
The Fish Prep Workshop will be held Tuesday, July 22nd, from 6:00pm-7:30pm at the Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension Office (3rd floor, Main Street Shoppe Centre, Waterloo, NY). There will be fish chowder to taste made from fresh fish stock! Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Advance registration is required so we can better plan for the classes. Space is limited!
