Canandaigua, NY- What is raised bed gardening? What are the advantages and issues regarding raised bed? This class will discuss different types of raised beds: unframed beds resting on top of the ground; framed structures on top of the ground; and raised frames at table top height to eliminate bending over or enable one to sit in a chair and access the raised bed garden. What are the steps in developing a raised bed? Dave Stewart, Ontario County Master Gardener will discuss how to construct a raised bed, site selection, soil composition and analysis, fertilizer, weed control, planting tips, and watering.

 Cost: $5.00 per person
