Solar and Renewable Energy for Farms: Finances, Incentives, and Insights
Wednesday, March 12, 2014
8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County
480 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424
In the Finger Lakes, many farm owners are figuring how best to adopt small-scale renewable energy sources to meet their farm’s needs. Through solar or wind power, many farms seek the rewards of sustainable energy consumption, conserving irreplaceable resources, creating revenue streams, and increasing self-sufficiency.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County, in cooperation with RER Energy Group and several regional renewable energy enterprises, is hosting a free seminar for farmers and business owners about small-scale renewable energy, with an emphasis on solar photovoltaic applications. This two-part workshop will introduce financial and economic considerations (power purchase agreements, tax credits, and accelerated depreciation), and then cover technological topics, such as net metering, utility interconnection, and remote power. Additional topics include backup power, the role of wind turbines, and site assessment.
To register for this seminar, please choose one of the following:
Even though the workshop is free, space is limited and pre-registration is required.
