Thursday, December 5 2013 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

The 1st Ever Coal Calamity Awards!

Join the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Finger Lakes Chapter (AFP) on December 10, noon to 2 p.m. at the Geneva Free Library, 244 Main Street, Geneva, NY for a fun and…educational event! Hear presenters share stories of dismal failure, near misses and other misadventures in philanthropy. Presenters will have 10 minutes to share a story about a professional calamity and what they learned. Those present at the event will vote on the “biggest failure.” The winner will receive the soon-to-be-much-coveted Coal Calamity Award and $100 for the non-profit of their choice.

This year’s presenters will include:

Beth Lathrop, Executive Director, Geneva Public Library

Kelly Bradley, Executive Director, Smith Center for the Arts

Mike McGreevy, Vice President of Advancement, Wells College

George Ferrari, Executive Director, Tompkins County Community Foundation

John Spence, Executive Director, Community Arts Partnership

Mary Beth Bunge, Development Director, Alternatives Impact, Alternatives Federal Credit Union

Program is open to the community (not just development professionals) and includes lunch. Cost is just $15 for AFP members and $25 for non-members. To register, please visit
