10:00am-1:00pm

Cornell Cooperative Extension Center

480 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424

Canandaigua, NY-Farmers markets, CSAs and home gardens are overflowing with fresh, local produce. One of the best ways to extend the harvest is by learning home food preservation methods. Hope Galens, Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Local Food Educator will lead a class on canning peaches for beginners.  Join us for a fun-filled, hands-on, step-by-step class that will explain how to can peaches using a boiling water bath canner. Participants will leave with a pint of fresh, local canned peaches.

Fee:  $20 per participant; participants are asked to bring their own apron and dishtowel (to transport their peaches)

Pre-registration requested by Friday, August 16: Contact Cornell Cooperative Extension at 585-394-3977 x427 or send name, address and phone number to  nea8@cornell.edu
