FLFCU Presents an Artist Exhibition by Steve Duprey iCal

Friday, May 3 2013 1:00 AM - 1:00 AM

The Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union presents an art exhibition by local artist, Steve Duprey.  His work is on display at the FLFCU Main Office (Geneva Branch) lobby and Loan Department.  The display features his paintings of landscapes and trees.  An opening reception with the artist will be held Friday May 3rd, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Credit Union’s Main Office as part of GENEVA NIGHT OUT.  Light refreshments, including a wine tasting will be available.  “Geneva Night Out is an independent, grassroots coalition of area artists, business owners, merchants and residents working together to cultivate an increasingly inviting, walkable, diverse and arts-friendly destination.”

Steve Duprey is relatively new to the painting world.  He started just a little over two years ago when his wife Cindy gave him all the supplies he needed to begin.  It's been quite an adventure since then.  He paints quickly and several times a week.  People have compared his rapid painting style to that of television's Bob Ross.  He posts his speed paintings on YouTube (just search his name).  Steve has found that landscapes, specifically trees, are his thing and, after only a year of the art show circuit, has been dubbed "The Tree Guy".  His love of that particular form drives most of his work.  When not painting, Steve teaches communications at Finger Lakes Community College and directs the Newark High School theatre program.  He's also well known in the Geneva area for his work with the Geneva Theatre Guild.

All the paintings that you see are available for purchase.  If you see something you like please contact the artist directly at steve@dupreyart.com or through his website: www.dupreyart.com.  You'll also find many more paintings on the website.  Prints of all his paintings are also available.  Stop in the Credit Union to see the exhibit, which will continue to be on display through the month of June.  After that date, another artist’s exhibit will be displayed.
