The Waterloo Library and Historical Society’s Friends of the Library will present local author Ace Abbott, speaking on his newest book Dead Tired: Pilot Fatigue-An Aviation’s Insidious Killer on October 16, 2012 from 5:30 to 7:00pm at the Waterloo Library, 31 E Williams St. Waterloo.

This is Ace’s 3rd book where he has written about his experiences as a Rogue Aviator. Ace was born and raised on a farm in Upstate NY, entered the Air Force in 1965 and became an F-4 Phantom fighter pilot based in the Far East.  In 1971 he began his civilian career as a Learjet charter pilot. His 36 year aviation career, from 1980 until 2002, took him to 44 countries with 25 employers as a Boeing 727 Captain. It is our privilege and honor to have him visiting the Waterloo Library to speak with our patrons as well as have copies of his books for sale to be signed. There will be a reception immediately following where light refreshments will be provided.
