DESCRIPTION:Maple Production for Small ProducersTuesday, January 29, 20136:30 PM - 8:30 PMCornell Cooperative Extension Center480 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424&nbsp;Canandaigua, NY - New York State is fortunate to have lots of sugar maple trees and the right weather conditions for the production of maple syrup.&nbsp;Whether you are looking to become more efficient in your maple operation or interested in becoming a small maple syrup producer, knowing how to select and set up your equipment, know your return on investment, and having a marketing plan is essential.&nbsp;On Tuesday, January 29, 2013, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County will hold a Maple Production for Small Producers Workshop, at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Center, 480 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY.Cornell University State Maple Specialist, Stephen Childs will discuss details on building an arch for boiling down sap; how to set up tubing collection lines and equipment required; how to size and select a vacuum pump for your operation; how to install and operate a reverse osmosis system. Stephen will also address starting on a marketing plan and your return on equipment purchases.&nbsp;Fee: $15.00 per person. Registration requested by January 23, 2013.
