SUMMARY:Home School Nature Series: Beak Adaptations & Citizen Science
LOCATION:Montezuma Audubon Center 2295 State Route 89, Savannah, NY 13146
DESCRIPTION:Designed for home-schooled children ages 5-12, children will be able to understand how the shape of a bird’s beak is an adaptation made specifically to help it survive in its environment. They will match form to function by choosing the correct beak for each type of food. Then, we’ll survey birds at the Center as part of Project FeederWatch and explore how this citizen science project is useful for bird conservation. Fee: $7/child. Space is limited. Registration required. Call 315-365-3588 or e-mail montezuma@audubon.org.
