SUMMARY:Flu Shots Now Available at Family Health Centers
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION:The 2012-2013 Flu Shot is now available at Clyde, Dundee and Seneca Family Health Centers. Patients of each practice are encouraged to call the office to set up an appointment to receive the flu vaccine. For individuals who do not have a primary care physician, all three health centers are now accepting new patients. Numbers for each practice are: Clyde Family Health Center (315) 923-3640 Dundee Family Health Center (607) 243-7881 Seneca Family Health Center (315) 787-4977 According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the flu is caused by the influenza virus, which can be spread by coughing, sneezing, or nasal secretions. Anyone can get influenza, but rates of infection are highest among children. All people 6 months of age and older should get flu vaccine. Vaccination is especially important for people at higher risk of severe influenza and their close contacts, including healthcare personnel and close contacts of children younger than 6 months. It is recommended to get the vaccine as soon as it is available.
