DESCRIPTION:Nurse&rsquo;s from Geneva General Hospital&rsquo;s Acute Rehabilitation Department are offering monthly free blood pressure screenings and education at the Geneva Community Lunch Program held at the Geneva Methodist Church located at 340 Main Street.&nbsp;Screenings will be held from 11:15 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. on:&middot; Thursday, September 27 &middot; Tuesday, October 23&middot; Thursday, November 29&middot; Tuesday, December 18&nbsp;76.4 million adults have been diagnosed with high blood pressure in the United States. High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart attack, stroke and heart and kidney failure.&nbsp; &ldquo;It is vital that everyone in our community knows and understands what their blood pressure is. An abnormal blood pressure reading should not be treated lightly; we provide education about potential health consequences.&nbsp; If someone has an abnormal reading, we strongly recommend that they see their primary care physician and if they do not have physician, we provide them with physician referral information&rdquo; comments Modera.&nbsp;Free blood pressure screenings are also held the second Tuesday of each month in the Acute Rehabilitation Unit Dining Room at Geneva General Hospital from 1-3 p.m. The entrance and parking is at the rear of the hospital.
