SUMMARY:Youth & Family Farm Safety Event
LOCATION:7328 Ann St. Ovid 14521
DESCRIPTION:Are looking for a great family event? We have a great opportunity for you. The Seneca County Youth & Family Farm Safety Event to be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 7328 Ann Street, Ovid, NY. This event is made possible by the Family of Mark Smith and the Mark Smith Memorial Fund. The event will be an opportunity for youth and families to gain information on animal safety; food safety; bicycle safety; pond safety; eye, respiratory & hearing safety; tractor safety, mechanical hazards and much more. Thanks to the generous contributions to the Mark Smith Memorial Fund FREE youth ATV helmets and FREE youth floatation devices will be available to the first 25 registrants. When Mark Smith died on March 23, 2012 his family wanted donations given in his name to go toward something Mark would have been proud of. They decided to have donations given to the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) for a farm safety program for youth and families. The Family of Mark Smith wishes to communicate safety rules and life-saving information to help children remain safe. NYCAMH and Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension are working together to provide education and resources for this event. All are welcome to attend The Seneca County Youth & Family Farm Safety Event, but registration is strongly recommended. To register contact Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension at 315-539-9251 or Rachel Williams at rrw33@cornell.edu.
