Accident On State Route 14 Sends 2 To Hospital

70 year old Steven Barley of Penfield was stopped on State Route 14 at the intersection of Packwood Rd. waiting for approaching traffic before turning left onto Packwood Rd. 86 year old Floranee Sullivan of Seneca Falls, who was also traveling South, did not notice that Mr. Barley was stopped and Mr. Sullivan's vehicle rear-ended Mr. Barley's vehicle. Mr. Barley's wife, Joyce, was a front seat passenger and sustained a back injury from the impact. Mrs. Barley was transported to Geneva General Hospital by Fingerlakes Ambulance.

Mr. Sullivan was also transported to Geneva General Hospital by Fingerlakes Ambulance for a head and hand injury.

Mr. Sullivan was ticketed for Following too Closely. No other tickets were issued as no other violations of law were reported or observed.

Oaks Corners Fire Deparment assisted at the scene.

State Route 14 was closed between Gambee Rd and Skuse Rd for approximately 1/2 hour during the investigation and removal of the vehicles.
