Canandaigua Man Arrested for Imprisoning Woman

Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of James Aikey, 32, of Canandaigua following a domestic disturbance at the Saltonstall Street mobile home park. An investigation alleges Aikey took the victims phone to prevent her from calling 911 for police assistance in addition to sitting on top of her while holding her hands down at her sides, preventing her movement. Aikey is also accused of grabbing the victim by her arms and shaking her. The victim was able to flee to a neighbors house where she called 911. Aikey was charged with unlawful imprisonment in the 2nd degree, criminal mischief in the 4th degree and harassment in the 2nd degree. He was arraigned and committed to the Ontario County Jail without bail.
