Syracuse Man Charged After Accident

On the 3rd of Jaunary 2013 at approximately 7:10pm The Seneca Falls Police Department responded to the intersection of State Route 318 and Auburn Rd for a property damage motor vehicle accident. Mahina Mahina age 18, of 800 Kossuth Ave, Syracuse, NY 13501 was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree and multiple other traffic violations. The property damage accident involved Mahina's vehicle and another vehicle which soon left the scene of the accident before authorities arrived and has not been identified yet. The investigation and statements Mahina made to officers led the Seneca Falls Police to believe that Mahina's vehicle was traveling east on State Route 318 at an unsafe speed, hitting an patch of ice prior to the Route 318/ Auburn Rd intersection. This sent Mahina's vehicle out into the intersection, colliding with
a vehicle that was traveling North East on Auburn Rd. Mahina was also charged with speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to stop and a stop sign, failure to maintain safe lane, failure to yield right of way. Mahina was issued traffic tickets for all offenses and released. He is to appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court on the 17th of January 2013 at 10:00 am.
