Fire in Town of Seneca Forces Occupants Out

On 12/18/12 at 2203 hours Fire Crews from Stanley and Hopewell Fire Department responded to Sandhill Road in the Town of Seneca for a reported Chimney Fire. Upon arrival the residence was filled with heavy smoke. Investigation revealed that chimney debris in the base of a fireplace ignited a fire that spread to the floor beneath the fireplace. All residents were evacuated safely. The fire damage was contained to the floor area around the fireplace. The residents were forced to leave the residence for the evening because of fire damage. They left to stay with nearby family. Stanley Hall Gotham Ambulance was also on scene, no injuries were reported. The residence was insured.
