On 11-17-12, at or about 10:59AM, Sheriff Deputies along with Oaks Fire Department, Fingerlakes Ambulance and Phelps Ambulance responded to a three car motor vehicle accident. This occurred in front of 2085 State Route 14 in the Town of Phelps. All vehicles were traveling South on State Route 14 when the accident occurred. 78-year old John Miller of Savannah was driving a 2010 Chevy when he did not see the other traffic stopped on State Route 14. Miller's vehicle collided with the back bumper of a 2005 Cadilac driven by 46-year old Erin Henry-Soudan of Newark. The 2005 Cadilac was then driven into a 2005 Dodge driven by 56-year old Eileen Palone of Geneva.
The vehicles had stopped in traffic and were waiting to make a left turn into the driveway when the accident occurred, Ms. Henry-Soudan had one passenger in the vehicle , 42-year old Clarence Reed, also of Newark. Ms. Palone had one passenger in her vehicle , 13-year old Sierra Shoemaker, also of of Geneva. All parties were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident and only the 2010 Chevy had air bags deploy. Sierra Shoemaker was transported by private vehicle to Geneva Hospital for neck pain. John Miller was transported by Phelps Ambulance for chest pain. All other parties were released at the scene. Mr. Miller was ticketed for unreasonable speed and will answer to the charge at a later date in the Town of Phelps.
