On October 25th, 2012 Ontario County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 20-year old Derek Kennedy of Geneva charging him with the offense of Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree (4 Counts). Kennedy did on May 16™, 2012 at the Ontario County Department of Social Services present four written statements containing false information for the purpose of obtaining child care benefits. Kennedy, who was a childcare provider, submitted child care attendance sheet to the Department of Social Services in May 2012, knowing that the attendance sheets contained false information. The attendance sheets contained fraudulent dates that which indicated he provided childcare services, while at the same time he was incarcerated in the Ontario County Correctional Facility.
Kennedy was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the City of Geneva Court on November i 5th, 2012 at 9:00 AM to answer the above charges.
