Ovid, N.Y. – On Saturday, September 24, Myer Farm Distillers will celebrate its fourth anniversary with the release of J. Earl Myer Cinnamon Lake, a cinnamon-infused whiskey finished with fresh vanilla bean. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the tasting room (7350 State Route 89, Ovid, along the Cayuga Wine Trail). General tastings, specialty cocktails and free samples of the new release will be available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with light fare served from 1 to 5 p.m. Myer Farm Distillers also will discount products and merchandise throughout the weekend.
“We have a lot to celebrate in addition to our fourth year in business, from awards earned to the release of our newest product,” says Joe Myer, president of Myer Farm Distillers. “We look forward to introducing J. Earl Myer Cinnamon Lake to our customers and sharing our award-winners with them.”
This year, three of the John Myer New York Straight Single Barrel whiskeys (bourbon, rye and wheat) were awarded bronze medals from the American Distilling Institute (ADI), the nation's oldest and largest craft distilling competition. Whisky Advocate gave scores of 86, 85, and 84, respectively, to these acclaimed whiskeys. Additionally, for the second consecutive year, the ADI awarded a silver medal to Myer Farm Distillers’ Cayuga Gold Barrel Gin. The company also earned an invite to represent American craft distillers at the annual international cocktail festival, Tales of the Cocktail, in New Orleans, Louisiana this past July. Less than a dozen distilleries who were top medal winners in the competition received this invite.
