The father of a Wayne County 5-year-old girl, and his wife, are charged with endangering the welfare of a child following the investigation into an incident that occurred last Saturday night at their Canal Street home in Lyons.
It’s alleged that 39-year old David Besse allowed his highly intoxicated male co-worker spend the night in the living room of their home. According to investigators, also sleeping alone in the living room was David’s five-year-old daughter. Upon finding the child sleeping on the floor during the middle of the night, the little girl told her dad his co-worker had got onto the couch with her. David Besse then placed his daughter on another couch that his co-worker was originally sleeping on. A short time later, David got up to find his daughter crying with a bloody nose, with the cause being unknown. David and Jamie Besse finally removed the child from the living room for the night to only get up later to find the co-worker sitting nude on an end table urinating on himself and the furniture.
David and Jamie Besse are scheduled to be back in court next week. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says at this time there is not sufficient evidence to charge the unidentified co-worker.
