Erwin William “Bud” Smith, 81, of Geneva, passed away on Monday (June 4, 2018) at the Huntington Living Center.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, on Monday (June 11, 2018) from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in his memory may be made for Alzheimer’s Research.
Bud was born on February 19, 1937 to Erwin William Sr. and Naoma Snook. He was the oldest of 4, was raised in Geneva and lived here his entire life. He graduated from Geneva High School in 1955. He married Kay Whitaker, also from Geneva, in June 1963 and had 3 sons, Michael, Patrick and David. He worked for LeBrun Motors, Mello Rich Dairy, New York State Thruway and retired from Willard Correctional facility. He was an avid collector of model trains, a “Ferroequineoligist”.
He is survived by his sons Michael (Susan) Smith, Patrick Smith, David (Tina) Smith and Paul (Tammy) VanOrden; nine grandchildren Danielle Smith (Jared Spencer), Stephanie (Paul) Coleman, Miranda, Rhiannon, Megan and Garrett Smith, Brandon, Tyler and Mariha Van Orden; three great-grandchildren Braeden, Brodie Spencer and Oliver Coleman; brother, Victor Smith; sister, Joy Van Orden; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Kay; brother, Lewis Smith and great-granddaughter, Brynn Spencer.
