Officials from the state’s small city school districts gathered in Albany over the weekend to strategize a number of issues, mostly involving Foundation Aid funding.
They also discussed graduation rates. Auburn District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said on Tuesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News this year’s rate is the highest ever for the district.
He added the rate can be even higher if the district can create pathways to success for graduates.
The district also wants to increase per student spending, which is currently at $17,500 per student, more than $6,000 below the state average and in the bottom 5% in the state.
