Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup is looking to get into the world of politics. Printup announced Tuesday he is seeking a seat on the Chemung County Legislature in District Four.
Printup has lived in Horseheads the last ten years. He is a board member of the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council, Southern Tier Economic Growth (STEG), Chemung / Corning Community Foundation, and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
Regarding his decision to run, Printup said it is “born both my desire to give back to the community and by the belief that my experience and skillsets can be an asset during these critical times in local government.”
Printup stated that he is prepared to run an aggressive campaign and will be releasing position papers outlining his specific goals and action plan.
