The Taylor-Brown Auxiliary recently presented a check for $9,270 to Huntington Living Center. The gift was presented during the annual Silver Tea at the Waterloo facility, part of Finger Lakes Health. The event marked the 60th anniversary of the Auxiliary’s formation.
The donation will benefit the residents of Huntington Living Center including funding entertainment, tent rental and game rental for the annual resident picnic; other resident entertainment; Zumba Gold sessions; Sirius/XM radio; Life Enrichment Program supplies, and plant and flowers for the front entry, desks and porches at Huntington Living Center.
Proceeds came from a variety of fundraising activities that took place during the past year, including the annual golf tournament held in June, annual chicken barbecue, bake sales, drawings, and craft sales.
Karol Prayne, Huntington Living Center administrator; Bill Garrity, Vice President, Long Term Care for Finger Lakes Health, and Lara Chatel Turbide, Vice President, Community Services and Executive Director, Finger Lakes Health Foundation, all thanked the Auxilians who spent many hours volunteering time to raise the funds, as well as the support they extend to the residents at Huntington Living Center.
New Taylor-Brown Auxiliary members are always welcome. Membership dues of $5 help the Auxiliary fund its projects while supporting the residents of Huntington Living Center. For more information on how to become a member, call Debbie Lockett at the Huntington Living Center at (315) 787-4949.
