The search is over for a missing Wayne County woman, but the search continues for her 14-month old son.
Wayne County’s Sheriff Barry Virits announced Thursday night deputies located the body of 18-year old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon of Sodus. Deputies are still searching for her son Owen. Sheriff Virits says her body was found in the woods Wednesday morning. Virts believes she was killed inside of her home and her body was carried into the woods and buried.
Police say a boyfriend, Alberto Reyes, was seen on trail cameras carrying a shovel. He was arrested yesterday in Livingston County and charged with tampering with physical evidence. Reyes told deputies he removed Selena Hidalgo-Calderon’s body from their home and buried her between two logs but did not admit to killing her.
Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies will be back today searching a Sodus farm for a young mother and her 14-month-old son after they have been declared missing.
18-year old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her son Owen were last seen on May 16th in the area of Joy Road in Sodus. Yesterday at least 20 police officers went out into an orchard along Joy Road to search the property. Police say Selena worked in that orchard.

Selena is from Guatemala and speaks little English. She has lived in the U.S. since 2016 recently moving to Sodus withe her boyfriend from the Syracuse area. She is scheduled to be in immigration court on June 5th.
