WAUB brought you a boys’-girls’ lacrosse doubleheader last night. The Auburn boys posted a 17-9 win over Oswego, while the girls fell to F-M, 15-4. One other boys’ score: Canandaigua topped Hamburg, 9-4; and on the girls’ side, Mynderse took down Newark, 8-5; Aquinas handled Geneva, 16-7; Marcus Whitman doubled up Livonia, 10-5; Wayne nipped Eastridge, 6-5; and Victor coasted by the Greece Storm, 16-6. In high school baseball, Baldwinsville dropped Auburn, 10-3; Hannibal edged Jordan-Elbridge, 4-3; Victor eked by Greece Arcadia, 2-1; Penn Yan dropped Pal-Mac, 12-5; Wayne slipped by Mynderse, 3-2; Newark manhandled Midlakes, 11-1; Williamson over East Rochester, 4-2; Canandaigua took Bath, 6-5; and LeRoy bested Red Jacket, 11-7.
In high school softball, Canandaigua blanked Brighton, 2-0; Wayne outslugged Mynderse, 15-12; Geneva got by Waterloo, 5-4; Dundee downed South Seneca, 7-3; Marcus Whitman took 2 from South Seneca, 17-7 and 11-6; Red Jacket hammered HAC, 21-9; North Rose-Wolcott mauled Marion, 23-8; Lyons ran roughshod over Red Creek, 18-1; Auburn upended Oswego, 7-4; and Pulaski clipped Cato-Meridian, 19-3.
In college baseball, Penn State-Berks whitewashed Keuka, 16-0.
In the IL, Sranton/Wilkes-Barre shutout the Red Wings, 7-0; while Pawtucket smashed Syracuse, 12-2.
In MLB, the Mets stopped Philadelphia, 3-1; and the Yankees fell to Oakland, 10-5.
