CANANDAIGUA – Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park is pleased to announce hiring Katherine Dillion, a new Development Manager from Charlottesville, Virginia. Katherine joins Sonnenberg Gardens with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from York University in Toronto Canada and a SUNY Brockport Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She also brings a wide range of other skills and experience such as event planning/management, community outreach/engagement, public relations, donor stewardship, customer service, online marketing, and volunteer recruitment/coordination. Katherine has a passion for furthering progressive causes through tested fundraising practices and strategic community engagement and will be well placed at Sonnenberg.
As the Manager of Corporate Fundraising & Major Giving at Sonnenberg Gardens, Katherine will work closely with the Executive Director and will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive development program including identifying, cultivating, and securing funding from current and prospective donors as well as corporate sponsors. Her position will also include participating in the varied and vibrant life of Sonnenberg Gardens in any way, including its many special weekend events, to help ensure the health and future of the state historic park.
This position is funded in part by Parks and Trails NY for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
