Assemblyman Bob Oaks announced on Friday that he will not seek re-election in November.
The Macedon Republican said on Monday’s Finger Lakes Morning News a light bulb came on as he was driving back to Albany following the post-budget break.
He added he might follow the lead of Senator Michael Nozzolio, who continues in public service following his lengthy career in the State Senate.
Oaks has represented the 130th District, which encompasses all of Wayne County since he was first elected in 1992. Portions of Cayuga and Oswego counties were added to the district following the 2002 election.
