Representatives from state government, growers, processors and other stakeholders came together in Chautauqua County last week for the first Concord Grape Summit held in New York. Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul convened the summit. She hopes that it will help jump start the Concord grape industry which has been suffering from lower prices due top a glut of grapes.
Prior to the Concord Grape Summit, the State has held other summits on products, ranging from the craft beer industry to industrial hemp. New York is the nation’s second largest Concord grape growing region in the world, with more than 30-THOUSAND acres grape vineyards.
