Auburn firefighters had their hands full when a vacant house went up in flames early on Thursday morning.
Capt. Mike Deyneko tells Finger Lakes News Radio a general alarm was received at 2:43am for a vacant house on fire at the corner of Walnut Street and Sheridan Street. On their arrival firefighters encountered heavy fire on the second floor of the structure.
A second alarm was requested and approximately 15 minutes later the roof collapsed into the second floor. The fire was brought under control within 90 minutes.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters and investigators are still on the scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
