A provision in the new state budget will require the Auburn and Union Springs school districts to report building-by-building spending in the next school year.
Auburn School District Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said on Tuesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News the data could be misleading.
He feels this is just another overreach that adds to the bureaucracy in Albany and offers little help for cash-strapped districts.
Gov. Cuomo proposed the budget provision because he believes it will help address the inequity in state education funding, but Pirozzolo and other small school districts see little or no change in state funding happening any time soon.
