The manager of a Victor restaurant is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the eatery and its employees.
38-year-old James Demetreu is accused of stealing more than 6-THOUSAND dollars through multiple debit card chargebacks while employed at the six50 restaurant on Route 96.
According to State Police, chargebacks normally return money to a customer or reverse a previous transition, but Demetreu allegedly returned the money to his personal bank account. The Irondequoit man is also accused of taking several employee paychecks and depositing them into his personal bank account. Demetreu is charged with grand larceny, scheming to defraud and falsifying business records, all felonies.
He was sent to Ontario County Jail following his arraignment.
