The New York National Guard and the Cayuga County Emergency Services Office will join together next month to present a disaster preparedness course in the heart of southern Cayuga County, which was devastated by flooding last summer.
Niel Rivenburgh is the Emergency Services Acting Director.
Rivenburgh tells Finger Lakes News Radio many county residents have a sensitivity to natural disasters and mass casualty events that will be covered in the program.
He adds the training will help both citizens and first responders.
The training takes place on the evening of April 16 at the Moravia firehouse. It’s free, but you’re asked to sign up by calling the ESO office at 315-255-1161 or by emailing Missy Reeves.
