A 34-year-old Rochester woman is in Steuben County Jail after police believe she swallowed drugs in an attempt to hide them during a traffic stop.
Nancy Lopez was pulled over on Interstate 390 for speeding in Bath. While troopers were interviewing Lopez, they discovered cocaine and marijuana after she had lied to them about possessing drugs. Troopers had Lopez taken to Arnot Ogden Hospital as a precaution after they believed she might have swallowed the drugs in an attempt to hide them.
After being released, Lopez was jailed on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, falsifying business records and marijuana possession.
