William C. ‘Bill’ Goodman passed peacefully from his earthly home to be with his Lord in Heaven on Monday (March 19, 2018).
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Funeral Service at the Woodlane Community Church (5694 Woodlane, Newark) on Saturday (March 24, 2018) at 2 p.m.

Bill was born in Clifton Springs on Friday (June 24, 1932) the fourth child of Floyd and Cecile Goodman. Bill graduated from the Clifton Springs High School in 1951. He enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War and served four years on active duty and four years in the reserves. The funeral home proudly flies the Navy Flag in honor of his service to our country. He graduated from Erie Tech Community College and attended RIT. He worked as an engineer for Stromberg Carlson, Harris Corporation of Rochester, and IEC of Newark, from which he retired.
Bill was a “jack of all trades”, a great handyman and woodworker, who used his talents to help many family members and friends. He was involved in building a home for his daughter through Habitat for Humanity. He loved playing golf and was an artist. He enjoyed painting with oils, watercolors and acrylics. Many paintings of “seascapes” were given to family and friends. He loved the outdoors, including gardening, hunting and fishing. Bill took many trips to Speculator, N.Y. and attended the Annual Naples Trout Derby. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Bill volunteered for the Shortsville Fire Department and was a member of the Garoga-Sincerity #0200 Masonic Lodge for many years. He was a member of the Shortsville Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Trustee. Recently, he was a member of the Woodlane Community Church in Newark where he served as an Elder and Deacon.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 39 years, Dawn; children Shaun Westlake of Manchester, Laura Burnett of Canandaigua, Doug (Carol) Goodman of Ontario, John (Kristen) Goodman of Spencerport; step-daughters Andrea (Todd) Windus of Newark, Colleen Florio of Queensbury; his sister, Gayle Rosekrans of Phelps; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother, Robert Goodman; and his sisters Betty Huxley and Jane Gregory.
