The man that allegedly fled to Nicaragua following the death of a Binghamton University student earlier this month was formally charged with murder over the weekend.
Orlando Tercero was arrested in Nicaragua last week after Broome County authorities labeled him a “person of interest” in connection with the March 9th death of 22-year-old Haley Anderson. Anderson’s body was found inside of Tercero’s home in Binghamton. Her cause of death was labeled as strangulation.
Both Anderson and Tercero were nursing students at Binghamton University and had a previous relationship.
At last word, Tercero was being held in a prison in Nicaragua located just outside of its capital.
