A Jerusalem woman has been charged in a Friday morning crash into a Yates County Highway snowplow.
Deputies say 23-year-old Tally McDonald didn’t stop at the intersection of Sutton and County House Roads, hitting the plow on the driver’s side.
McDonald was ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign. The plow’s driver was not hurt.
Blowing and drifting snow caused a number of accidents in Yates County Friday, including one involving a Yates County Sheriff’s Deputy and a county highway department worker.
On Twitter, Sheriff Ron Spike posted a photo with a caption stating a highway plow was struck and deputy was injured at the scene when their patrol car was struck from behind. The driver of the car was also hurt. No other details were released.
At one time Friday, Benton Firefighters closed a portion of State Route 14A because of all the cars of the road in the area of Benton Center.
