An investigation into stolen narcotics from the Seneca County Correctional Facility Medical Center has resulted in the arrest of a Waterloo woman.
58-year old Laurie Guererri, of Waterloo was employed as a Registered Nurse and worked at the jail. She was charged with official misconduct, petit larceny, promoting prison contraband, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The charges stem from an investigation into the disappearance of 103 pills from a sealed container at the facility. The missing pills were discovered by corrections personnel.
Sheriff Luce says the pills were slated for destruction.
Guererri was released on appearance tickets. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
