The State Senate on Wednesday adopted its 2018-19 fiscal year budget resolution. Republican Senator Jim Seward says it is everything Governor Cuomo’s budget isn’t.
He adds the spending plan spurs economic growth and benefits education.
Senators adhered to the self-imposed two-percent spending cap for the eighth year in a row. Capping state spending has saved taxpayers nearly $41 billion since the 2010-2011 budget. The Senate budget makes the cap on state spending permanent in an effort to avoid future tax increases
