Janice B. Valerio, 63, of Geneva, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday (March 11, 2018) in Geneva General Hospital.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva on Sunday (March 18, 2018) from 1 to 3 p.m. A Celebration of her life will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Jordan Hall on the Campus of the NYS Experiment Station, 630 W. North St., Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in her memory, may be made to St. Lawrence University, the Washington & Jefferson University Women’s Lacrosse Team or to the American Heart Association.
Janice was born in Binghamton, N.Y. and has resided in Geneva for several years. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Alice Clark Ball. Janice was a graduate of St. Lawrence University Class of 1976 where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She has worked at the NYS Experiment Station as an Administrative Assistant for several years. She was a member of Alfa Delta PI Sorority. She spoke French and Spanish, enjoyed doing YOGA, she loved attending the Cornell University Employee Day and spending time with her family and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen; son, Joseph Valerio of Washington, DC; daughter, Alison (Ethan Stewart-Smith) Valerio of Washington, Pa.; her sister, Catherine (Gerald) Church of Farwell, Mich.; several nieces; nephews; grand-nieces and nephews.
