Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould wouldn’t tip his hand about his future during Lawman Thursday on the Finger Lakes Morning News. He told Steve Penstone he wants to talk with his family before deciding if he’ll seek a fourth term as sheriff.
He said it will be a tough call after spending most of his adult life in law enforcement after leaving the military in 1970.
Detective Lt. Brian Schenck has already talked to him about running if he decides to retire.
Sheriff Gould says you can expect to learn of his decision during the first week of April.
