The 19 year old Sodus man charged last November with second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of his 17 year old ex-girlfriend is expected to plead guilty Friday morning.
Alyssa Taft’s mother contacted authorities to report her daughter was missing from their Ridge Road home in Sodus. When Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived shortly after midnight, they found blood on the steps leading into the front door. A short time later, the 9-1-1 center received a phone call from David Knight-Hollis saying he had killed Alyssa. Deputies located Knight-Hollis coming from a wooded area from behind the house and then found Taft’s body by the residence.
Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says Knight-Hollis lured Taft to his home by promising to pay her back money he owed her with the intention of trying to rekindle a relationship the two had but Taft had broken off. When she refused, Knight-Hollis allegedly stabbed Taft in the ribs and slit her throat to get her to stop screaming.
