Two New York State Troopers were struck by a car early Sunday morning on Interstate 90 in the state’s Capital Region.
The officers were responding to a one-car property damage accident shortly after 5 when another vehicle hit them in the eastbound lanes of I-90. Both had flares lit and emergency lights on while a tow truck was removing the initial car from the scene.
The driver of the car that struck the troopers, 26 year old Christopher Neumann, of Caselton, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, vehicular assault and numerous traffic violations.
Both Troopers were in serious, but stable condition at Albany Medical Center Sunday night.
