Lockdowns in Skaneateles and Cato Meridian schools, and charges against teens making threats on social media. All happening in Cayuga County in the wake of the massacre in Parkland Florida.
Sheriff David Gould said on Wednesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News threats from copycats and those with mental health issues can hit close to home.
Gould added closing mental health facilities in the state was a mistake, and in-patient treatment centers are needed
He said a dialogue on mental health issues is as important as any talks on gun control and dealing with mass shootings.
