One student is being investigated for an alleged online threat made Tuesday morning at the Cato-Meridian High School.
At around 11 Tuesday morning, a student reported the threat posted on social media to school administrators. Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputies were called and an investigation began.
Sheriff David Gould said on Wednesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News the teen was located on Tuesday afternoon, but is not in custody
Sheriff Gould added a deputy was posted outside of the school on Wednesday morning as the investigation continued.
In a letter posted on the district’s website, Superintendent Terry Ward said the student that made the threat did not currently attend the high school. He also thanked the “brave students who came forward with information which lead to the police investigation.”
