Elsewhere, Batavia knocked out Geneva, 57-48; Midlakes pounded Pal-Mac, 70-39; Canandaigua coasted over Wilson Magnet, 57-38; HF-L smoked School of the Arts, 95-45; and Pavilion nailed Naples, 56-29.
In boys action, Marcus Whitman nipped LeRoy, 54-53; Pembroke eliminated Gananda, 67-58; and Lyons wasted Warsaw, 84-59. We’ve got a tripleheader on tap today, as Weedsport takes on Tully at 2:45 on WAUB, Mynderse hosts Wellsville at 6 at fingerlakesdailynews.com, and Penn Yan squares off against Way-Co at 7 on WFLR. In local college basketball, the Cayuga CC men topped Corning CC, 72-67, in the MSAC semis. They’ll host Onondaga CC in today’s final; Onondaga downed FLCC, 97-67. FLCC’s women fared much better, upending Jefferson CC, 72-51. The Lakers will host Tompkins-Cortland CC in the MSAC women’s final today. Also, Hobart will host Skidmore in the Liberty League semis.
In the AHL, the Amerks fell to Toronto, 5-3; while the Crunch eked by Lehigh Valley, 2-1. In the NHL, Minnesota hammered the Rangers, 4-1.
