Frederick Kaufman, 76, passed away Friday (February 16, 2018) at home with his loving family by his side.
In keeping with Fred’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be in Mount Green Cemetery in Romulus at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021.
Fred was born September 26, 1941 in Seneca Falls, the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Roat) Kaufman. He was a 1959 graduate of Romulus Central School where he was active in sports. He served our Country in the Army during the Vietnam War from January 22, 1964 to January 20, 1966 earning the rank of SP5. Fred worked for several years as an electrician for Johnson Construction Co. and later was head of Operations/Maintenance at The Seneca Armey Depot retiring in 2000. He was a farmer at heart and loved mowing his lawn. He also loved to golf and bowl with his son Randy.
Fred is survived by his wife, Bernice I. (Gibbs) Kaufman of Romulus; his son, Randy (Michelle) of Rochester; step-daughter, Tammy (Chris) McCullough of Brockport; step-son, Dallis (Cathy) Gable, Jr. of Romulus; granddaughter, Cheyenne; brothers Charles (Jean) and Edward (Patty) of Canandaigua; several nieces and nephews; four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his sisters Marcella (Frank) Godley and Luella (Richard) Boyle; and his brothers Clifford (Kate) and Kenny (Sandy) Kaufman.
